Guido Migliozzi has been voted Hilton Golfer of the Month for March after winning his maiden European Tour title at the Magical Kenya Open presented by Absa.
The 22 year old received a huge 51 per cent of the public vote ahead of Stephen Gallacher in second place, who received 20 per cent of the vote after securing his first victory in five years when he triumphed at the Hero Indian Open.
The Italian posted rounds of 67-68-64-69 at Karen Country Club for a one-stroke victory ahead of Adri Arnaus, Louis De Jager and Justin Harding after earning 2019 playing privileges by finishing in the top 25 at Qualifying School in November 2018.
Migliozzi was tied with Arnaus heading into the final round and after making the turn at level par, he carded birdies at the tenth and 12th holes before showing nerves of steel as he parred the final six holes to secure a memorable first European Tour win.
Runner-up Gallacher won an emotional first title in five years when he closed out victory at the Hero Indian Open with son Jack on the bag. The Scot’s victory was made even more impressive as he was forced to bounce back from a quadruple bogey eight on the seventh hole of the final round.
South African Justin Harding came third in the monthly competition with 14 per cent of the vote following his first European Tour triumph at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters – his fifth worldwide victory in 12 months – and has since finished in a tie for 12th on his Masters Tournament debut.
After winning his second title of the season at the Oman Open, America’s Kurt Kitayama picked up nine per cent of the vote to finish fourth in the poll, while Maybank Championship winner Scott Hend came fifth with six percent of the vote.
