Pedro Oriol is relishing the prospect of competing for a European Golf Team Championships medal after Spain 1 qualified for Sunday's semi-finals on Thursday.
Oriol and his team-mate Scott Fernandez followed up Wednesday's Group C victory over Portugal with a second successive 2 and 1 win - this time against Poland's Adrian Meronk and Mateusz Gradecki on day two.
And with Portugal inflicting a second defeat on Denmark in the group's other game, Spain 1 cannot be caught at the top of the table no matter what happens when they play Denmark on Friday.
The semi-finals will be played in the foursomes match play format, with the winners going through to the Gold Medal Match and the losers battling it out for bronze.

Oriol is looking forward to challenging for a medal.

A birdie from Fernandez at the first handed Spain 1 the early lead on Thursday but Meronk levelled things up with a birdie of his own at the long second.
Oriol put the Spanish pair back in front at the earliest opportunity as a birdie was good enough to win the third hole.
Spain 1 opened up a two-hole lead when they won the fifth but Poland claimed the seventh to cut the gap back to one.
Oriol's eagle at the ninth restored their two-hole advantage and, after the sides matched each other blow-for-blow on the back nine, Spain 1 wrapped up the win with one hole remaining.
"It was pretty important to start well," Oriol continued. "We did a really nice job as a team and I'm very happy about it.
"Scott was very close to making an eagle on the 16th after two really nice shots and his putt was really close to going in.
"It was a tough match. Adrian played really well, he’s a great player. He was hitting nice shots all the time, so we couldn't relax.
"It was key to win today and now we know we have qualified for the semi-finals, which is really good news."
In the Women's Team event, newly-crowned Ricoh Women's British Open champion Georgia Hall and Dame Laura Davies were the first team into the semis after Great Britain 1 recorded a 4 and 3 win over Germany 2 on day two.
