Rory McIlroy's first top ten finish in a major on Monday has him licking his lips at the prospect of The Open Championship at Turnberry, now only three weeks away.
But first the 20 year old has a second European Tour title in his sights at the BMW International Open at Golfclub München Eichenried.
McIlroy shot a closing 68 at Bethpage Black to take tenth place on his US Open Championship debut - only six strokes behind surprise winner Lucas Glover.
"It's another good performance in a major this year and gives me a lot of confidence going into the rest of the season," said the world number 16, who came 20th on his first appearance at The Masters Tournament in April.
"I feel as if I've got the game to contend in majors now and try and compete to win them. The Open is a big target of mine.
"It was a really solid week and I can take a lot from it. It was a great week - and a long one."
Henrik Stenson, ninth on Monday, is not looking forward to the possibility of further rain throughout this week's event.
But the Swede added: "I've got two weeks off afterwards, so I'll try to make it through another wet week and then get some rest before The Open.
"Hopefully I'll be back fresh for the next major championship."
He has now posted top ten finishes in three of the last four and was joint third behind Padraig Harrington and Ian Poulter at Royal Birkdale last July.
Frenchman Christian Cevaer still has a task on his hands to qualify for The Open, despite his success at The European Open just four weeks ago.
Two places are on offer via a mini-Order of Merit which ends after this week's event and Cevaer is currently in second place, £44,000 behind Swede Johan Edfors.
But he is less than £10,000 ahead of both Welshman Stephen Dodd and Denmark's Celtic Manor Wales Open winner Jeppe Huldahl and with a first prize of nearly £283,000 on Sunday countless others have the chance to grab a spot.
Among those also in Munich are Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, Retief Goosen, Luke Donald, Bernhard Langer and John Daly., while the defending champion is German Martin Kaymer.
