Paul McGinley will return to the scene of his greatest triumph when he makes his fourth appearance at The Senior Open Presented by Rolex this summer.
The Irishman captained Europe to an emphatic Ryder Cup victory at Gleneagles in 2014 and the storied venue will now play host to a Senior Major Championship for the first time.
While the United States were defeated over the PGA Centenary Course eight years ago, McGinley and the rest of the field will be teeing it up over the King's Course from July 21-24, and the 55-year-old is delighted to be back on a happy hunting ground.
“Gleneagles is obviously a very special place for me and it’s going to be a nice feeling when we get to go back there in July," he said.
"All these years later, I still struggle to put that week into words. It was magical and something I will never forget."
McGinley played the King's Course on the DP World Tour in 1993, missing the cut at Scotland's national open, and he knows what a tough challenge it will present.
“We’re on a different course this year to the one the Ryder Cup was played on and, despite my memories of the PGA Centenary Course, the King’s is a true golf course," he said.
