Matt Fitzpatrick set for Crans-Montana return with Seve Ballesteros record in sight

Matt Fitzpatrick will aim to emulate Seve Ballesteros as a three-time winner of the Omega European Masters when he returns to Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club from September 5-8, 2024.

The Englishman will be making his eighth appearance in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, as he goes in search of his tenth DP World Tour title.

Fitzpatrick has twice won the prestigious Omega European Masters, becoming the first player in 40 years since the late, great, Ballesteros to defend his title in 2018.

Having finished in a tie for third last year, victory later this year would see Fitzpatrick join Ballesteros, Harold Henning from South Africa, and Dai Rees from England to have secured a hat-trick of titles in the tournament’s long history.

Fitzpatrick, the World Number 17, claimed his maiden Major title at the 2022 U.S. Open and was part of the victorious European Ryder Cup team in Rome last year.

The Omega European Masters will this year form part of The Back Nine on the 2024 Race to Dubai, running from August 2024 to October 2024 and encompassing nine of the DP World Tour’s most historic tournaments and national Opens.
