Manuel Elvira and Darius van Driel will both go in search of a maiden DP World Tour victory when they head into the final round sharing the lead at the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa.
Dutchman Van Driel had led after rounds one and two and carded a bogey-free 68 to get to ten under but was joined by Spaniard Elvira, who signed for a 67 with six birdies and two bogeys.
England's Joe Dean, Scot Connor Syme and South African Ryan van Velzen were then two shots back as they all also look for their first victories.
Elvira's older brother Nacho was at seven under alongside Scot Ewen Ferguson, South African Deon Germishuys, England's Sam Hutsby and Finn Tapio Pulkkanen, who had shared the lead before registering a triple-bogey after getting his ball bizarrely stuck in a tree.
The younger Elvira is playing his maiden season on Tour after finishing third on last season's Road to Mallorca, registering a remarkable ten top tens with three second-places.
He is still looking for a first professional victory, however, and was relishing the prospect of potentially going head to head with his sibling.
"It's always nice," he said. "I saw his name on the leaderboard and I was happy because I knew he was playing well.
"I was talking to my caddie and saying 'how cool would it be to play on Sunday with him?'. Unfortunately we're not going to be able to but it's still going to be really nice to be both in contention."
He added: "I feel like I was in position all the time. I missed a couple of drives but I was always in the right spots and I gave myself a lot of chances for birdie. I think that was pretty important."
Van Driel was also a Challenge Tour graduate in 2019 but lost his card last season only to regain it straight away at the Qualifying School.
He has two top tens so far on the 2024 Race to Dubai and a victory on Sunday would make him the first wire-to-wire winner of the season.
"It was a good round," he said. "Bogey-free, not stress-free. I had to work hard for it the last couple of holes. Overall, a good round.
"It’s always been my dream to win on the DP World Tour. Trying to calm my emotions a little bit, not get ahead of myself. Play well and in the end I hope it’s enough.
"I’m confident. I’m playing well and holing a few putts. I’m going in there confident tomorrow. I’m tied for the lead so I’ve got everything still in my own hands."
There was a near 90-minute delay in the morning due to the course being flooded but once the later starters got under way, there was soon a seven-way tie for the lead.
Elvira was part of it after leaving himself four feet at the third but Pullkkanen broke out of the pack with a ten-footer at the same hole.
A stunning chip at the par-five fourth helped Elvira get up and down to join the lead but once again Pulkkanen edged ahead, hitting a nice shot from the rough to three feet at the seventh.
Elvira put his approach to 12 feet at the ninth to once again share the lead and he soon held it alone as Pulkkanen's ball remarkably got stuck up that tree on the eighth and he made a triple-bogey.
Van Driel was treading water as he parred his first eight holes but an approach to five feet at the ninth and a two-putt birdie at the par-five tenth had him in a share of top spot.
Elvira then put a wonderful tee-shot to four feet on the par-three 11th although he could not repeat the feat on the 13th, missing the green and failing to get up and down.
A huge drive on the 14th helped him recover as he put his second in close but Van Driel birdied the same hole from 12 feet before Elvira dropped a shot on the 16th but regained it from 20 feet on the next.
Van Velzen signed for a 67, one shot fewer than Dean, while Syme - who had shared the 36-hole lead with Van Driel and Pulkkanen - carded a 70.
