Hills Golf & Sports Club is the venue as the event returns to Gothenburg for the first time since 1996, and the two-time Major winner from Germany is part of a field that includes a host of European Tour winners, including Thorbjørn Olesen of Denmark, who won his first Rolex Series title at the Italian Open in June.

The European Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjørn, 2014 Nordea Masters winner Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee, five-time European Tour winner Alex Levy of France and Englishmen Eddie Pepperell – who won his first European Tour title earlier this year in Qatar - and fans favourite Andrew "Beef" Johnston, will all tee it up at Hills.

Former European Number One and 2018 Ryder Cup vice captain Robert Karlsson heads up the home charge alongside two of his countrymen who have captured their maiden European Tour wins this season – Alexander Björk and Joakim Lagergren.

Fellow Swedes in the field also include Marcus Kinhult, Johan Edfors, Niclas Fasth and Sebastian Söderberg, with Fredrik "Fidde" Jacobsson making his long-awaited return to Sweden's largest golfing event.

Three of the country’s leading amateurs will also be included. These players are appointed by the Swedish Golförbundet and at present Fredrik Nihlén and Ludvig Åberg are both confirmed.

Claes Nilsson, Tournament Director of the Nordea Masters said: “We are very pleased with this year's starting field at the Nordea Masters and there are some really interesting players. The growth in Swedish golf is strong and it's great fun that three of our hottest players - Björk, Lagergren and Kinhult - will play in front of the Swedish audience.

“The event is essentially a golf tournament, but we have also invested a lot in the experience that will bring something extra to the Hills. In addition to golf, visitors will also enjoy good food, artist entertainment and much more in our village.”
