Made In Denmark: Day 2 In Numbers

We’re 36 holes into the 2015 Made In Denmark event and it’s 000 that is atop the leaderboard. The Himmerland Golf Resort has been home to some wild and wonderful play so far. Here’s our statistical summary of the second day’s play.

130- David Horsey’s total after rounds of 63 and 67, setting a new 36 hole scoring record for the Made In Denmark. The Englishman leads by three shots over Richard Green and John Parry.

87- Players made the cut at level par. The largest cut of the season and five more than made the cut in the 2014 Made In Denmark.

71.7- Scoring average today. Roughly 0.6 shots higher than the opening day. Of the 156 players in the field today, 57 broke par.

  • Richard Green and Matthew Nixon’s second round score, tying for the low round of the day. Thanks to a count back it was Nixon that walked away with a remote control car courtesy of Lego, a proud Danish company.

  • Place jump on the leaderboard for Nixon who shot 75 in the first round.

  • Eagles at the sixth hole today. The 471 yard hole only produced seven bogeys.

  • Birdies by Darren Clarke so far this week. Amazingly, the Ryder Cup captain has made more birdies than pars (12) yet is only three under headed into the weekend.

  • Clarke made the only eagle two at the at the third hole all week, thanks to

this fantastic approach

. He didn’t even realise it had gone in!

18,437- Spectators came through the gates at Himmerland Golf Resort today.

32- Players averaging more than 300 yards off the tee this week.

7- Fairways hit by Thomas Pieters so far this week. Only one player has hit fewer. Yet the German made the cut with rounds of 70 and 72.
