Sweden's Mikael Lundberg made a blistering start in the final round of The Irish Open at Royal Portrush to move two shots off leader Jamie Donaldson.
Lundberg, who stumbled to a bogey-bogey start yesterday, was among the plethora of players who picked up two shots with an eagle on the second.
Ross Fisher and playing partner Richie Ramsay also went made three on the 528 yard par five, as did American John Daly.
But it was Lundberg who really made an impression with birdies either side of his eagle to move him up eight places for a share of third place.
His early momentum was halted when he dropped a shot on the fourth, however he recovered with a three on the par four fifth.
Thongchai Jaidee also made a surge up the leaderboard early on
The Thai golfer, who clinched his first European Tour title outside of Asia when he lifted the ISPS Handa Wales Open last month, was four under after the first nine before he picked up another shot on the tenth.
Donaldson, due out at 1:15pm, will have taken heart from Paul Lawrie's performance on the front nine this morning.
The in-form Scot eagled the ninth for the third time this week to reach the turn with a four under par 31. He added another birdie on the 15th to card an impressive 66.
