Luiten moves ahead in Oman

Joost Luiten opened up a two-shot lead as the final round of the inaugural NBO Oman Open got under way at Al Mouj Golf.

The sultanate was hosting a European Tour event for the first time and perfect conditions greeted the players for the fourth day in a row with 13 within five shots of the lead.

Luiten started the day in a share of top spot and birdies on the second and third moved the Dutchman to 14 under and two shots ahead of Frenchman Julien Guerrier and England's Matthew Southgate and Chris Wood.

Spaniard Adrian Otaegui was then at ten under, with English pair Andrew Johnston and Robert Rock, and American Han Seung-su a further shot back.

A bogey-bogey finish on Saturday dropped Wood out of the lead but a smart approach into the first quickly had him into a share of top spot.

He would not be there for long, though, as Southgate spun his approach to the second to tap-in range to get to 13 under.

Luiten then hit a perfect drive on the second and that allowed him to get close and make a birdie to join Southgate at the top of the leaderboard.

Southgate had birdied the par five third on all of the first three days but a three-putt led to a bogey on Sunday and Luiten was alone in the lead.

The 32 year old then stretched his advantage to two shots when he holed from the fringe on the third.

Guerrier parred his first three holes while Otaegui was level par for the day through four.
