After last week’s European Qualifier at Walton Heath Golf Club in England, where Alex Noren and Marc Warren led 11 European Tour Members to win spots at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, Love III grabbed one of the 16 available places on offer at the Scioto Country Club / OSU Golf Club-Scarlet in Columbus, Ohio.

Other notable qualifiers to the season’s second Major Championship that will be defended by Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, included Germany’s Alex Cjeka, who came through the local qualifier at Lake Merced Golf Club / TPC Harding Park in California, and Englishman Sam Osborne.

Osborne, a former Club Champion at Wentworth Club who came through the English Amateur ranks and then played on the Challenge Tour alongside Ross Fisher, took one of three US Open places available at the Black Diamond Ranch - Quarry Course in Florida where he now plays on the West Florida Golf Tour.

A total of 48 players have won exemptions to the US Open through the USGA’s qualification system, with the remaining ten spots to be filled upon completion of the final qualifying event at Germantown Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee, where heavy rain saw a suspension of play on Monday evening.
