Thursday's Willow Senior Golf Classic Pro-Am proved to be a stunning success, as another hole-in-one from an amateur raised a further £10,000 for the charity.
Mark Pears, playing in a team with European Senior Tour professional Ross Drummond,Gerard Cohen and Ashley Whitby, shot a hole-in-one on the 16th hole at Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club, raising £10,000 for Willow.
Tournament sponsor Midway Insurance pledged £10,000 for each hole-in-one scored by an amateur golfer across all five days of the Willow Senior Golf Classic, from Wednesday to Sunday.
Amateur Placid Gonzales kick-started the week with a hole-in-one, also on the 16th hole, and Pears' ace raises the total to £20,000 for the charity, which provides Special Days for 16 to 40 year olds with life-threatening illnesses.
The Thursday Pro-Am day was won by the team of professional André Bossert, Rob Jiggins, Steve Parnell and Rob Steed.
