Langer wins again in America

Bernhard Langer added to his impressive start to the 2013 Champions Tour campaign by shooting a 67 to win the inaugural Greater Gwinnett Championship by three strokes.

The three-time Champions Tour player of the year notched six birdies en route to claiming his fifth top three finish in six events this year so far this season.

Langer, who finished the tournament on ten under par, took control with a 40-foot chip-in for birdie at the tenth hole.

The German opened with a one over par round of 73 on Friday, before recovering with a sparkling 66 on Saturday.

“I’ve had very good starts before but this is exceptional,” Langer said. “I don’t think I’ve ever had anything like this.”

“It’s just gratifying to see all the hard work pay off, because sometimes you work hard and it doesn’t pay off. Lately, it’s been the more practice I do, the better I get.”

Langer’s fellow Senior Tour Member Roger Chapman finished in a tie for 13th place after closing with a round of 75.
