Langer continues incredible form in the United States

Former Ryder Cup Captain Bernhard Langer’s remarkable form shows no sign of waning as he recorded his third runner-up finish in four events on the PGA TOUR Champions circuit.

The two-time Masters champion and three-time Senior Major winner finished second at the SAS Championship at Prestonwood Country Club’s Highlands Course, three shots behind Doug Garwood, and, in doing so, continued his incredible run of results in 2016 where he has finished no lower than tied 13th.

The German finished tied third at the WINSTONgolf Senior Open in July and then tied ninth at the Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex a fortnight later.

He is just one result shy of 30 PGA TOUR Champions titles after adding four to his tally in 2016, his most recent at the Boeing Classic at the end of August.

Langer leads the Schwab Cup Money List by more than $1million from fellow European Senior Tour member Miguel Angel Jiménez and is on course to capture his fourth season title in the United States.

Jiménez finished the weekend solo sixth on ten under par, with three-time Senior Major champion Colin Montgomerie a shot further back tied for seventh.

Senior Open Championship winner Paul Broadhurst finished tied 19th on five under par.
