KLM Open - Round Four underway an hour late

The final round of the KLM Open got underway at 9am, an hour later than scheduled due to flooding.

Tournament Director Miguel Vidaor helps clear the eighth green

A huge thunderstorm in the Hilversum area overnight dumped a further 25mm of rain on an already sodden golf course, meaning the scheduled start time of 8am was impossible.

However a superb effort by the Hilversumsche Golf Club greenkeeping staff saw them clear the course and bunkers of the water to ensure that the play got underway at 9am.

One of the worst affected areas was the eighth green which was completely underwater when staff arrived at the course in the early hours of the morning, but sterling work got the putting surface cleared to allow play to go on.

The tee times, from tees 1 and 9, are now from 9am to 11am with the hope that the tournament can finish at 4pm now, local time, not 3pm.
