Local favourite Søren Kjeldsen relished the tougher conditions at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort as a second-round 67 moved him right into contention heading into the weekend at the Made in Denmark.
Joakim Lagergren, Tom Lewis and Thomas Pieters all fired course record-equalling rounds of 62 on Thursday but increased winds made that sort of scoring far more difficult on day two.
Kjeldsen opened his second round with 11 pars but then went birdie-par-birdie-eagle from the third - with a wonderful second shot setting up his move on the sixth - as he continued his excellent record in Farsø.
The four-time European Tour winner has finished 15th and second in the two stagings of this event so far, and feels right at home for more than obvious reasons.

"It was really good," he said. "These are the conditions I love. It got really windy and tough and you have to control the ball flight. I felt like I hit a lot of quality shots. I had to wait a bit for it to happen for the first 11 holes but then I had a nice four hole run where I made my score.
"I thought Shane (Lowry) and Paul (Lawrie) played extremely well today. They shot five and six under. I struggle to see guys shooting less than that.
"The crowds were great again today. I wrote on Facebook and thanked them all again yesterday. It's like being carried out there. It is amazing support and Shane and Paul said they'd never tried anything better than this. It really is unique and I would really encourage people to come out and take part in the big party.
"I've just got to keep doing the same thing. I've really enjoyed the first two days, playing with Paul and Shane makes it much easier. I've been nice and focused on my own game, nice and relaxed and want to keep it going."
Fellow Dane Jeff Winther also got to seven under with a 67 that included two eagles. He holed a wedge from 38 yards on the par four 14th and found the green in two on the sixth for two big birds.
The Challenge Tour graduate shared the lead heading into the weekend at the D+D REAL Czech Masters last week and is happy with his recent form.

"It was fantastic, just holing that chip on 14, it was awesome," he said. "I was just a bit left in the drive but hung in there, it was just in the fringe and I just wanted it to go past the pin to have a straight uphill putt, but it hit the pin and went in so it's beautiful.
"It's amazing. Even in this windy weather, there are a lot of people out there. Even on 16 this morning, we started on the back nine and there was about 2000 people there, it was ridiculous, it was awesome.
"I'm really starting to strike the ball well, I've got the woods going really nicely, I don't think I have missed a lot of fairways. It's just dead centre every time almost, so it's a lovely feeling."
