European Tour Chief Executive Keith Pelley kicked off the week of the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament in style in Shanghai today as part of the celebrated HSBC Golf Business Forum.
Pelley took part in a four-man panel entitled ‘Guardians of the Game’ alongside PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem, R&A Chief Executive Martin Slumbers and LPGA CEO Mike Whan – a discussion moderated by BBC golf commentator Andrew Cotter.
The quartet discussed many of the pressing issues facing the modern professional game as well as the plans for the future, in front of an audience made up of golf industry leaders from across the globe.
The two-day forum is taking place at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel in central Shanghai before the focus moves to the Sheshan International Golf Club for the WGC-HSBC Champions – the second tournament of the 2015 Final Series on The Race To Dubai – which gets underway on Thursday morning.
