The next generation of Kazakhstan golfers were given some expert training at the Kazakhstan Open as Peter Tarver-Jones and Justin Walters held a clinic for local youngsters.
Under blazing sunshine at Almaty’s Nurtau GC, the European Challenge Tour professionals taught an attentive audience about the basics of the game before fielding questions and watching them in action.
Golf in Kazakhstan is a relatively new phenomenon, though this is the 11thstaging of the Kazakhstan Open, and the Challenge Tour is proud to be at the forefront of spreading the game to new areas.
Kazakhstan’s golf hopes were further boosted last week when one of their own, 16 year old Daulet Tuleubayev, became the first player from his country to play a European Tour eventwhen he teed up at the Russian Open.
With the Challenge Tour’s continued support for Kazakhstan golf and the ongoing success of the Kazakhstan Open, there are high hopes that some of the young golfers at this year’s clinic can follow in Tuleubayev’s footsteps in the not-too-distant future.
