Kaymer on course for second straight win

Martin Kaymer reached the turn two under par in his final round at The Barclays Scottish Open to put himself on course for back-to-back European Tour victories at Loch Lomond.

The 24 year old German, who defeated Lee Westwood in a play-off to win the Open de France ALSTOM a week ago, started the day one behind Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño.

But despite dropping a shot at the second he birdied both par fives on the front nine as well as the par three eighth after a splendid tee shot which left him 15 under for the week with nine holes to play.

Dane Søren Kjeldsen had joined Fernandez-Castaño in second place on 13 under, with England’s Lee Westwood – who almost withdrew because of a chest infection on the first day – a shot further back.

American duo Nick Watney and Brian Gay, halfway leader Retief Goosen and Ross Fisher were still just about in the hunt at 11 under.
