Two-time Major Champion Martin Kaymer has confirmed he will make his debut in Made in Denmark from August 25-28.
The former World Number One is looking forward to his first trip to Himmerland Golf Club and, in particular, the famous ‘Himmerland Hill’ which surrounds the par three 16th hole.
“I really would like to get a taste of that amazing atmosphere that everybody is talking about,” said Kaymer. “I’m sure it will be a great experience, and I’m very glad to be competing at Made in Denmark this year.”
Kaymer won the US PGA Championship in 2010, and two years ago he sealed his second Major win at the US Open. He has 11 wins on the European Tour and in 2010 he also topped the Order of Merit.
Made in Denmark Promoter, Flemming Astrup, said: “It’s a fantastic player and person who comes to Himmerland in a few weeks’ time. I’m really glad that Martin Kaymer has chosen to play Made in Denmark.”
Kaymer has been part of the last three winning Ryder Cup teams, and in 2012 at Medinah he secured the point which ensured Europe retained The Ryder Cup. He will be looking to strengthen his chances of a fourth consecutive appearance he in biennial contest, with Made in Denmark the last automatic qualifying event.
