Martin Kaymer and Bernd Wiesberger have confirmed they will be part of the field when the Porsche European Open returns to Golf Resort Bad Griesbach for the second consecutive year from September 22-25.
Two-time Major Champion Kaymer is Germany’s leading player and will compete in the tournament for the first time.
He said: "I'm pleased that it works out this year and I will be playing in front of a home audience at the Porsche European Open.”
Joining Kaymer in the field will be compatriot Marcel Siem, currently sidelined due to a shoulder injury, as well Maximilian Kieffer, Florian Fritsch and Bernd Ritthammer, while Austrian Wiesberger will also return having led after the first round last year.
Tournament Director Dominik Senn said: "We are proud and happy that we have received positive feedback from the players and that there is a great interest to take part in the tournament.We will do our best to improve the quality even further and we're well on the way to achieving this goal."
Ryder Cup heroes Peter Hanson and Robert Karlsson of Sweden, and Paul Lawrie of Scotland are all excited about their appearances in Bad Griesbach. The trio of automotive enthusiasts admit they are particularly looking forward to taking a closer look at the innovative Porsche sports cars.
