Major Champion Rose is the main sponsor of the Telegraph Junior Golf Championship and has earned widespread recognition alongside his wife Kate for their support of women’s golf with the launch of the Rose Ladies Series.

The Duke of Edinburgh Cup is a charity fundraising event, featuring a programme of national amateur golf events around the world to benefit young people and children in need globally.

The final event takes place in the autumn of each year and consists of 36 holes at two of the most prestigious courses in the United Kingdom, in addition to a round at the private course at Windsor Castle.

“I am delighted to accept the position of Ambassador for the Duke of Edinburgh Cup as raising funds through golf for children in need continues to be a passion and focus of mine,” said Rose.

“I am very much looking forward to working with the Trustees to expand the Charity’s global reach and impact.

“I particularly appreciate how the organisers of each individual event are able to select the cause most needed in their local community where the monies are being raised.”

In a social media post, he added: “I see so much opportunity for the Duke of Edinburgh Cup to expand its reach and help more people in need, through the game of golf.

“With my wife Kate joining as one of the Trustees, we look forward to playing our part in supporting such a good cause.”
