Jon Rahm has been voted April's Golfer of the Month presented by DP World, following his historic win at the Masters Tournament.
On the 40th anniversary of his hero Seve Ballesteros's second Green Jacket triumph, Rahm claimed his second Major on what would have been his countryman's 66th birthday.
His victory saw him become the first European player to win both the Masters and the U.S. Open and return to the summit of the Official World Golf Ranking.
In a public poll, Rahm proved the overwhelming winner as he received a staggering 77.5% votes.
After a four-putt double bogey on the first green in the first round at Augusta National, the 28-year-old recovered to go on and win the 87th Masters by an impressive four-shot margin.
Rahm’s fellow countryman Pablo Larrazábal finished second with 11.2% of the votes.
He saved his lowest round until last at the Korea Championship presented by Genesis, posting a closing 65 for his fourth under par round of the week to claim his eighth DP World title.
Lucas Herbert gained six per cent of the votes for his play-off victory at the ISPS Handa – Championship in Japan.
An eagle on the fifth hole of his final round was surpassed by the Australian’s tournament-winning recovery from the base of a tree on the second play-off hole to make an unlikely birdie for his third DP World Tour win.
In fourth place, March’s winner Jorge Campillo received 5.4 per cent of the votes.
He extended his consistent from into April with two top tens after his victory at the Magical Kenya Open presented by Absa last month.
