Joburg Open day two - What they said

Paul Waring was one shot clear of nearest challengers Darren Fichardt and Dean Burmester when play was halted due to fading light on day two of the Joburg Open.

Here, we take a look at what the chasing pack said after their second rounds.

Jacques Kruyswijk (70, -10)

"I'm feeling good! This back 18 was a bit of an up-and-down round. I just hit one fairway on the front nine and I shifted to my 3-wood on the back nine and made a couple of putts, made a couple of birdies. Like I said - a very up-and-down round but I'm still in a good position and just very excited for tomorrow. It’s always important to keep a calm mind. Everyone is playing in the same conditions. The course was really wet - especially East. So I just kept calm. I stuck to my strategy, I stuck to my game plan and it paid off. I'm happy."

Haydn Porteous (67, -9)

"To have two bogey-free rounds in a row is an awesome feeling and it just leads to more confidence. Hopefully I can do the same on the weekend. I wouldn't say West is that tough - as long as you are hitting the fairways, you have a chance to make birdie coming into the greens. But to do it around the East is not easy. You do have a few tough holes out there and to get away from that course unscathed is a pretty good feeling."

Stuart Manley (67, -9)

"I'm very pleased. I played very solidly today - a little bit poor yesterday but when I came back this morning, I played very nicely and carried it on to the second round."
