Miguel Angel Jiménez won his fourth over-50s title as he successfully defended the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic on the PGA TOUR Champions circuit.
The Spaniard, a four-time Ryder Cup player, defeated Senior Major Champion Gene Sauers in a play-off with a birdie on the first extra hole to win his 28th professional title.
Sauers put pressure on Jiménez on the Saturday, setting a new course record at Fallen Oak during the second round. But the 54 year old rallied during the final round, shooting two under par.
An uncharacteristic double-bogey on the 18th forced a play-off. Sauers' approach found a bunker, while Jiménez left himself eight feet for birdie, which he tapped in to take home the title.
The 2014 Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex winner, Bernhard Langer, finished in a share of third place with three-time US Ryder Cup player Steve Stricker.
John Jacobs Trophy holder Paul Broadhurst finished tied for 11th on seven under par.
