Casey Jarvis has closed the gap to Frenchman Ugo Coussaud at the top of the Road to Mallorca Rankings following back-to-back second place finishes.
The South African is still searching for a first win on the European Challenge Tour but has remained a constant in the top 20 thanks to three second place finishes and one other top ten finish this year.
Coussaud, despite not playing the last three, remains out in front on 930 points thanks to an outstanding start to the season which saw him win on the Challenge Tour for the first time at The Challenge presented by KGA.
Jarvis is 163 points behind Coussaud on 767 points, followed by Lorenzo Scalise from Italy whose maiden Challenge Tour triumph at the Kaskada Golf Challenge saw him climb 12 places to third on 698 points.
Adam Blommé made a strong start to the season in South Africa and has taken that form into Europe, with three top ten finishes in his last three starts on the Road to Mallorca. The 27-year-old is in fourth place on the Rankings having made nine of 12 cuts this season, racking up 665 points in the process. Spaniard Manuel Elvira has impressed with two second place finishes and he makes up the top five – currently on 655 points.
Jesper Svenssen is sixth in the Rankings and is one of the form players on the Challenge Tour, amassing 594 points from just five starts. Italian Andrea Pavan, who came out on top at the D+D Real Czech Challenge, is in seventh place with 556 points, while South African duo JJ Senekal and Jaco Prinsloo are eighth and ninth with 526 and 514 points respectively. Italian Matteo Manassero, the youngest winner in DP World Tour history, rounds out the top ten, with his victory at the Copenhagen Challenge presented by Ejner Hessel helping him reach 510 points.
Outside the top ten, three top five finishes in the last three weeks have seen Nicolai Kristensen from Denmark rise 44 places to 16th. Scotland’s Craig Howie currently occupies the all-important 20th place in the Rankings.
The Road to Mallorca continues this week with the Blot Open de Bretagne taking place from June 22-25 at Golf Blue Green de Pléneuf Val André in France.
