Scott Jamieson went on an early birdie blitz to leap into a share of the lead with David Lipsky on day two of the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
The Scot began the day five off the lead at Leopard Creek Country Club and opened with three pars but then picked up five shots in six holes to rocket to six under alongside Lipsky.
The American started the day a shot ahead of Jamieson and made an eagle and two birdies in his first ten holes.
Overnight leader Oliver Bekker, Scot Marc Warren and Austrian Bernd Wiesberger were at five under alongside Australian Dimitrios Papadatos - who was among the later starters.
Zander Lombard got off to a flying start, birdieing the tenth and 11th and then eagling the 13th to jump to five under.
Lipsky joined him there with a birdie on the 11th and an eagle on the 13th but Bekker birdied the 12th to jump out to seven under.
The home favourite then double-bogeyed the 13th and dropped a shot on the 15th to fall back, with Lombard birdieing the 15th and Lipsky making a gain on the 16th to jump out in front.
Bogeys from Lombard on the 17th and 18th slipped him back but Jamieson was soon heading in the other direction with birdies on the 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th and 18th.
Wiesberger had birdies on the tenth, 11th and 13th in his first five holes, with Warren registering gains on the tenth, 13th and 14th.
Ben Evans, Espen Kofstad, Dylan Frittelli and Oliver Wilson were alongside Lombard at four under.
