First round tee times were put back 60 minutes due to the threat of lightning in Singapore, but once the action began Jamieson wasted little time racing to four under par.

Starting on the back nine, former Nelson Mandela Championship winner Jamieson had birdies at the 11th, 13th, 14th and 17th, as well as a solitary bogey on the 16th, as he turned in 33.

Another gain at the first took the 30 year old to four under and into a share of the lead alongside American David Lipsky, Thailand’s Panuphol Pittayarat and Sri Lankan Mithun Perera.

Defending champion Brett Rumford, who won this event in South Korea 12 months ago, was a shot further back on three under, as were his fellow Australians Wade Ormsby and Scott Barr, Thai Prom Meesawat and England’s Matthew Nixon.

Last week’s winner Alexander Levy ran up a triple bogey seven at the 13th as he turned in a two over 38.
