After a three-year stay at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, the DP World Tour makes its way to Adriatic Golf Club for the first time for Italy's national Open.

It will mark the first time in 31 years the event, which was one of the DP World Tour’s founding events in 1972 and has been an ever-present tournament since, has been played in the region of Emilia-Romagna.

All eyes will be on the home favourites around the par 70 course, with high hopes for a first Italian triumph on home soil in eight years following Guido Migliozzi's victory at the KLM Open last week and Matteo Manassero's remarkable return to the winner's circle earlier this season at the Jonsson Workwear Open.

Edoardo Molinari, a fellow multiple DP World Tour winner and Team Europe Ryder Cup Vice Captain, is also teeing it up alongside Renato Paratore and Andrea Pavan as 20 home hopes target a memorable success.

If you have not done so already, you can sign up to play the official 2024 DP World Tour Fantasy game here and submit your six-man team before round one gets under way on Thursday.

The 2024 season-long winner will win a trip to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai next year, enjoy a lesson with a DP World Tour professional and a round of golf on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. For more information on this amazing prize and others, read here

Fantasy Insight: As it stands, Guido Migliozzi is the favourite among players of our Fantasy Game this week, featuring in 67% of teams. Other popular players include Matteo Manassero (59%) and Patrick Reed (54%).

Calum Hill, who finished as the runner-up in his last start at the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed, is the fourth most picked player, featuring in 43% of Fantasy teams.

Favourite - Tom McKibbin

The Northern Irishman is enjoying a consistent campaign on the DP World Tour, with his fifth top ten of year – and third in his last five starts – coming at the KLM Open.

That result lifted him to 20th on the season-long Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and was hot on the heels of the 21-year-old making the cut at his Major Championship debut in the U.S. Open earlier this month.

While he missed the cut on his only previous start at the Italian Open last year at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, he has since won on the DP World Tour and arrives in Emilia-Romagna in the top ten for both Driving Accuracy and Greens in Regulation this season.

With two days to go until the penultimate event of the European Swing, he features in 29% of teams among Fantasy users.

Form Horse - Guido Migliozzi

It's perhaps little surprise that last week's champion returns to home soil and features heavily in teams selected by users of our Fantasy Game, currently leading the way as the most selected player at 65%.

The Italian has enjoyed a strong run of form since a runner-up finish at the Volvo China Open, following that up with tie for 24th at the Soudal Open and a tie for 8th at the European Open before his play-off triumph helped him to a fourth DP World Tour victory at the KLM Open last week.

A solid all-round performer, Migliozzi ranks inside the top 35 on Tour this season for Scoring Average, Strokes Gained: Tee to Green, Strokes Gained: Approach the Green, Birdies and both Par Three and Par Four Scoring.

The only somewhat negative point to his game was off the tee earlier this season, but he gained 6.19 shots over the field average for driving accuracy last week, which bodes well for this week and a new venue.

Wild Card - Andy Sullivan

A well-known multiple DP World Tour winner might seem a surprise Wild Card pick, but Sullivan features in less than 6% of teams at the moment and we feel the Englishman is worth highlighting this week.

When you consider that this week's course isn't the longest, and there are plenty of par fours, it could be the perfect recipe for Sullivan, who ranks 7th off the tee in Driving Accuracy but 73rd on Tour for distance.

He already has three top fours this season, and arrives in Italy having most recently finished in a tie for third in difficult playing conditions at the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed.

Looking back: KLM Open

Picked by 18% of Fantasy users and registering a return of 203 points, Migliozzi made a closing birdie to force his way into a three play-off, where he triumphed on the second hole of sudden death to win his fourth DP World Tour title.

Of our pre-tournament selections, Tom McKibbin, the Form Horse, was the best-performing player as he delivered 116 points for the 14% of Fantasy users who picked him with a sixth place finish.

Matt Wallace, our Favourite, returned 128 points for the 41% of users who picked him with his tie for 15th, while Tom Vaillant finished in a tie for 29th.
