A:The remaining 16 players (those in positions 9 – 24) will be randomly paired and will play the first round of match play. The eight winners from those matches will advance to play the eight seeds in the second round of match play.
Q: What happens if there is a tie for any position other than eighth within the top eight?
A: Any ties other than for eighth place will be determined by countback as follows:
- Best third round score, then
- Best scores on the last 9, 6, 3 and 1 holes of the course in the third round, then
- Card match play starting at the first hole of the course based on third round scores.
Q: Is there a third/fourth play-off?
A: Yes, there will be an additional third/fourth match for the losing semi-finalists, but there will not be further matches to determine positions fifth to eighth. All players finishing in those positions will receive the same prize money.
Q: Which holes are being used at Lake Karrinyup for the Super 6 matches?
A: All knockout matches will be played over six holes, being the tenth (par four),11th (par five), 13th (par four), 14th (par four), 12th (par three) and 18th (par four).
Q: What are the particulars around the extra knockout hole after tied Super 6 matches?
A:Any matches tied after the six holes will proceed to the shootout hole – a specially-constructed 90-yard par three with a new tee on the right side of the 18th fairway, playing to the 18th green – where a hole-by-hole sudden-death play-off will be used to determine the winner. A coin toss will determine which player gets the honour.
