Everything you need to know from day one in Northern Ireland.
Brown bounds ahead
Daniel Brown carded the lowest round of his DP World Tour career with a 64 to take a two-shot lead after day one. The Englishman carded an eagle and six birdies with a single bogey at Castlerock Golf Club to get to seven under at the event co-sanctioned by the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour where full fields of men and women play across two courses over the four days. Italian Gregorio De Leo challenged Brown for the round of the day with a five-under 65 at Galgorm, where scoring proved tougher on the opening day. English duo Callan Barrow and Alex Fitzpatrick and India's Manu Gandas were also at five under after all carding rounds of 66 at Castlerock.
Tight at the top in the women's event
There was a four-way tie at the top in the women's event, with England's Gabriella Cowley, Australian Karis Davidson, Swiss Kim Metraux and Swede Ellinor Sudow all at four under. “I think obviously being like a links course it was windy this afternoon," said Cowley of Castlerock. "So just trying to manage the ball flight and the kind of shots that we're trying to hit. I just think the course was playing tough, but I think obviously a few par fives that we can reach which was good for us." Swede Daniela Holmqvist, England's Bronte Law, France's Anne-Charlotte Mora and Welshwoman Chloe Williams were a shot off the lead.

DP World Tour pays tribute to Henry
Everyone at the Tour was deeply saddened by the recent death of Henry Carter, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 33. Players wore orange ribbons and used orange tees in honour of Taylor Made club-builder Henry, a tribute to his ginger hair. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
Today players and staff remember Henry Carter, a familiar face on Tour who recently lost his battle with cancer. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.#WorldInvitational pic.twitter.com/Ic624gSVs0

Bunker magic
Marcus Armitage holed out for eagle at the tenth.
And while it was for a bogey, Romain Langasque did the same at the tenth after leaving his first effort in the sand.
If at first you don't succeed... try again @Lancaisse 😏#WorldInvitational pic.twitter.com/I6amdIR5FT

But they don't all have to go in........
This one may not have found the bottom of the cup but what a shot from Robert MacIntyre.
Big bird for Lemke
Albatrosses have always been a rare thing on the DP World Tour, with just 147 in the record books at the end of last season. In 2023, however, we have gone albatross crazy, with six recorded in just 34 events. The latest came from Niklas Lemke, with the Swede holing his second on the par-five 15th at Castlerock.
