Home hero Hurly Long admitted he was in a state of disbelief upon discovering he had made an albatross at the par-five 11th on day two of the 2023 Porsche European Open.
The 27-year-old German holed his approach shot from around 280 yards using a three wood early on Friday morning but did not realise his ball had gone in until he got up to the green.
Long's first career albatross came as he posted a second successive 73 to head into the weekend on level par.
He said: "I honestly couldn't believe it when I got up there because I didn't know initially that it was in.
"I had, I think, 259 metres. To be fair to myself, I did hit a perfect shot, I was going right at it and I called it pretty early. I said 'Go in'.

"And then it disappeared but the stats guy standing there didn't react so I was like 'Well, it can't be that good'.
"And we got up there and he was like 'Nice shot'. And it was in the hole!
"So I was pretty pumped about that as I'd never had one."
