Louis Klein is out to gain more experience when he tees it up on home soil in the Kaskáda Golf Challenge at Golf Resort Kaskáda this week.
The 14-year-old made history in the same event last year by becoming the youngest player to make a cut on the Challenge Tour at the age of 13 years, nine months and 24 days.
The Czech prospect, playing as an amateur, defied his young years to card rounds of 71-71 to make it into the weekend before going on to finish in a share of 54th place.
Klein had his dad caddying for him 12 months ago and will do so again this time out, as he looks to build on what he achieved last year.
“It’s a nice feeling being back here,” he said. “It was a beautiful feeling last year, and by doing it with my father on my bag, I felt very blessed.
“It’s great because he knows my game the most. He’s my coach as well, so he knows everything I do, and he makes me better out there on the course when I’m playing.
“The course is really well prepared. The fairways and greens look great. The rough is very big this week which I’m not used to, and the course seems quite soft at the minute.
“I played here three months ago and it was a completely different course, so we’ll see how I get on. Hopefully I can make the cut again.”
Klein is relishing the opportunity to test himself against the Challenge Tour’s best once again, with some of the brightest prospects in the game and several former DP World Tour winners also in the field.
“Playing with the professional players is a great feeling,” he added. “It’s something special that I’m not used to all the time, and I like it.
“I’ve also been given an invite into the KLM Open next week. I heard it two days ago, and I was actually tearing up because it’s a DP World Tour event which is great for me. It’s a brilliant feeling to know that I’m playing here this week, and I have that to look forward to next week.”
A strong field assembles in Brno this week, with Road to Mallorca Number Two John Parry and DP World Tour winners Alexander Levy from France and Scotland’s Marc Warren set to tee it up when play gets under way on Thursday.
Round one gets under way on at 7:30am on Thursday with Klein teeing off alongside Parry and South African Deon Germishuys at 1:30pm.
