Benjamin Hebert enjoyed himself on day three of the Maybank Championship as he produced a flawless 65 to move into contention in Malaysia.
Starting from the tenth tee, the Frenchman notched one eagle and five birdies on Saturday to move to nine under par.
That left Hebert, who spent day three in the company of Brandon Stone and Kristoffer Broberg, four shots behind leader Nacho Elvira ahead of Sunday's final round.
The six time European Challenge Tour winner was without his regular caddie for the third round at Saujana Golf and Country Club, instead borrowing Raphaël Jacquelin's bagman, but that did not stop him from posting the joint lowest round of the week.
He said: "It was nice, my playing partners were very cool also so we enjoyed the day.
"It's very, very hot and humid. I have a towel that I put in ice every hole to refresh myself but it's very tough.
"Mike Lorenzo-Vera's brother is my coach now. We just try to work hard and get better. I think it's getting better, I'm missing a little bit of consistency but my putting has been working really well the last month.
"It was the weak part of my game, but now it's good - and the chipping also.
"I hit a lot of greens today, missing only the first and the last. In the middle it was great. The greens are alright, I didn't really feel like they changed the greens actually.
"For me it's quite similar to last year, grainy and it's getting firmer during the week. It's quite hard to get pin high because the pins are now a bit on the side near every slope.
"It's quite tough but we managed it, even if I changed my caddie. My usual caddie felt very bad yesterday, and he stopped on the 13th. I had to finish with a local caddie. Now I have Charles, Raphaël Jacquelin's caddie, we had a great day."
