Major Champions Pádraig Harrington, Henrik Stenson and Danny Willett will lead a star-studded field at this year’s D+D REAL Czech Masters as the event makes its return to the Race to Dubai later this month.
Both Stenson and Willett will aim to impress Ryder Cup Captain Harrington, with just three events remaining in the European Ryder Cup qualification process after the D+D REAL Czech Masters.
This year marks the seventh edition of the popular European Tour event after last year’s tournament was cancelled due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Stenson, who famously overcame an heroic challenge from Phil Mickelson on the final day of the 2016 Open Championship, will be making his first appearance in Prague
Three-time Major Champion Harrington, who won back-to-back Open Championships in 2007 and 2008 and the US PGA Championship in 2008, came close to winning the title in his first appearance at Albatross Golf Resort in 2018, missing out to eventual champion Andrea Pavan.
“I have great memories of the event in 2018 and 2019,” said Harrington. “It’s a great golf course and a lot of credit must go to Petr Dedek and his team for their work in developing the game of golf in the Czech Republic.
Willett, winner of the Masters Tournament in 2016, will be making his third appearance in the Czech Republic, having finished T13 and T18 in his last two starts in Prague.
“I’m really looking forward to going back to the Czech Republic,” said Willet. “The Czech Masters is a great event and Prague is a fantastic city. The tournament is really highly regarded by players and I’m sure there will be a great atmosphere during the week.”
