Harding has Georgia on his mind

Justin Harding enjoyed yet another sensational Sunday on the European Tour to edge closer to a Masters Tournament debut at Augusta National next month.

The South African - who claimed a maiden European Tour win at last week's Commercial Bank Qatar Masters - has gone sub 70 in six of his seven fourth rounds this season, with a pair of 63s in the Middle East.

He matched last week's closing 66 on Sunday at the Magical Kenya Open presented by Absa to finish in a tie for second at Karen Country Club and earn yet more vital points in the Official World Golf Ranking.

The 33-year-old entered the week at 52nd and could move into that magical top 50 that would get him to Augusta National.

"I had to have a good finish," he said. "To have done that helps.

"I think I'm probably still going to have to have a decent result come the Match Play but I've at least given myself a decent shot at Augusta."

Harding started with eight pars but got up and down from the front of the ninth and the back of the 11th for birdies.

An eagle from ten feet at the 12th had him in a share of the lead but he bogeyed the next before a stunning approach into the 15th and a 20 footer on the 17th guaranteed him another good week.

"I thought I played quite nicely," he said. "Didn't get everything out of the front nine, couple of bad chips on six and seven which were naughty, but gave myself a chance coming down the stretch.

"It was another good week, pretty pleased. I battled, probably from hole one, with club selection and the wind swirling around so to have come out and posted 15 under, I'm pleased.

"I've been playing solid golf. I'm trying to minimise mistakes, I made a couple this week which were strange but, at the end of the day, you've just got to try and make more birdies than bogeys.

"I had a good week last week and another one this week so I'm sitting quite nicely first season on the European Tour."
