Samuel Del Val has two Qualifying Schools on his calendar in the next few weeks but he could change all that if he maintains his brilliant form on home soil at the Mutuactivos Open de España.
The World Number 1,413 is currently without playing privileges and has racked up some serious miles of late in his quest to find a spot for next season.
A tie for 18th at last week's Hopps Open de Provence was his best finish in ten European Challenge Tour events this season but he has also made appearances on the European Tour and PGA Tour Series-China.
Last season saw him play on the Korn Ferry Tour and the PGA Tour Latinoamerica, and he has also previously teed it up on the Mackenzie Tour - PGA Tour Canada in a career that has seen him peak at 545th on the Official World Golf Ranking.
All that will seem a long way away on Saturday, however, when he goes out in the final group in his national open alongside countrymen Adri Arnaus and Rafa Cabrera Bello after opening rounds of 67-65 at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.
A victory in just his sixth European Tour appearance would be reward for his globetrotting efforts, and the 32-year-old is determined to enjoy his weekend in front of bumper crowds.
"It’s going to be a great weekend," he said. "Having Spaniards at the top of the leaderboard hopefully brings more people, I think it’ll be a spectacular weekend on a great golf course with some great golf.
"This is my 20th week of the last 23. I’ve been away from home for four months. I live in the States in Atlanta.
"I’ve been playing PGA Tour China, had some invites on the Challenge Tour too.
"After losing my card on the Web.com Tour last year, I decided to try and have both ways to get back to where I think I should be playing. I have both stages of second stage at the end of the month for the Korn Ferry Tour and here in Europe."
