Genworth Stats Pack - Summary Report

The final round of the Open de España produced 20 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 72.48. Raphaël Jacquelin emerged as the eventual winner from a marathon nine hole playoff against Maximilian Kieffer and Felipe Aguilar, with four others players finishing one shot behind. We analyse their tournament performances plus we round up the final Genworth Statistics leaders.

Raphaël JACQUELIN -5

Raphaël Jacquelin emerged victorious from the nine hole playoff to win his fourth European Tour title and climb to 24th on the 2013 Race to Dubai. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, the 38 year old Frenchman accumulated 41/56 fairways (ranking 9th), 50/72 greens (ranking 21st) and 117 putts (ranking 13th), as well as being 3/3 for Sand Saves. Raphaël also scored very well across the different hole types (being the Par 3’s / Par 4’s / Par 5’s) and he converted 17 birdies in total over the 72 holes (ranking 2nd).

Maximilian KIEFFER -5

Maximilian Kieffer went the distance with Raphaël Jacquelin over the nine hole playoff, and although he wasn’t quite able to pull it off, his tied second place finish looks to have already secured his tour card for next year. The 22 year old talent from Germany ranked 3rd for the Genworth Greens in Regulations statistic for the week (hitting 54/72 greens) and 10th for Putts per GIR, which confirms he was not only hitting a good number of the greens but comparatively the ball was finishing pretty close to the hole as well.

Felipe AGUILAR -5

Felipe Aguilar was the last member of the playoff but was knocked out after three holes. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, the 38 year old golfer from Chile produced a long game master class this week, hitting 41/56 fairways (ranking 9th) and 56/72 Greens (ranking 1st). As a result of his great tee to green play, Felipe dropped the least number of shots over the tricky Parador de El Saler course during the tournament.

Marc WARREN -4

Marc Warren was one shot ahead with two holes to play in the final round after a holed bunker shot on the 16th, but a third European Tour title went awry with a bogey - bogey finish. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, 32 year old Scottish golfer performed magnificently on the greens and he also converted more birdies than any other player in the field (19 in total).

David Horsey is producing some great golf at the moment with tied 6th, tied 2nd and tied 4th place finishes in his last three starts.
