The final day of the Trophée Hassan II over the Golf du Palais Royal course saw Marcel Siem complete an impressive wire to wire victory. We analyse his performance for the week together with the other tournament contenders Mikko Ilonen, David Horsey and Pablo Larrazábal, plus we round up the final Genworth Statistics.

Marcel Siem produced a solid final round of 70 to complete a wire to wire victory and all but guaranteed his place in The Masters. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, the 32 year old golfer from Germany was strong across the board, ranking 15th for Driving Accuracy (42/52 fairways), 7th for Greens in Regulation (51/72 greens), 13th for Scrambles (13/21 up and downs) and 10th for Putts per Round (111 in total). He also ranked 1st for Par 4 Scoring with a 3.75 average and hit seven of the Par 5 holes in sub-regulation two shots. This is Marcel’s third European Tour victory to date.

Mikko ILONEN -14
Mikko Ilonen got off to a fast start in the final round with three birdies in the first four holes, but his chance of winning somewhat disappeared with a few dropped shots just after the turn. A superb birdie - birdie finish though secured second place and a great week’s work. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, the 33 year old golfer from Finland ranked 6th for Driving Distance, 1st for Putts per GIR, 2nd for Putts per Round and 3rd for 1 Putts per Round, plus he scored very well on the Par 4’s and Par 5’s, and converted more eagles than any other player in the field.

David HORSEY -14
David Horsey produced a great performance over the Golf du Palais Royal course for the third year in a row. The 2011 winner of this event drove the ball nice and straight as usual (hitting 80.8% of the fairways) and his approach play was pretty solid as well, but no-one could compete with his Genworth Short Game Statistics. The 27 year old Englishman ranked 8th for Scrambles, 1st for Sand Saves, 2nd for Putts per GIR, 1st for Putts per Round and 1st for 1 Putts per Round. David also converted more birdies than any other player in the field over the week (24 in total).

Genworth Ambassador Pablo Larrazábal couldn’t quite keep pace with the other leaders over the final day, but a round of 71 was good enough to secure a comfortable 4th place finish, and an excellent performance for the third week in a row. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, the 29 year old Spanish golfer ranked 15th for Driving Accuracy, 15th for Greens in Regulation, 5th for Putts per GIR, 10th for Putts per Round and 6th for 1 Putts per Round, plus he scored very well on both the Par 3’s and Par 5’s.
