Round 4 of the Madeira Islands Open - Portugal - BPI produced 31 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 71.71. Peter Uihlein emerged as the eventual winner on -15 from Morten Ørum Madsen and Mark Tullo on -13 and Craig Lee on -12. We analyse their tournament performances plus we round up the final Genworth Statistics leaders for the event.
Peter UIHLEIN -15
Peter Uihlein converted seven birdies against three bogeys for a final round 68 to win by two shots. It was only a matter of time before the 23 year old talent from the USA secured his first European Tour win and he did it in style. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, Peter ranked first for Driving Distance (with a huge 319 yards) which then helped him to hit the most Par 5 greens in sub-regulation (two shots). That coupled with a sublime touch on the greens, ranking 2nd for Putts per GIR, 1st for Putts per Round and 3rd for 1 Putts per Round, enabled him to convert more birdies than any other player in the field (22 in total).

Morten Ørum MADSEN -13
Morten Ørum Madsen converted eight birdies against one bogey and one double bogey (on the 18th hole) for a final round of 67. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 25 year old golfer from Denmark was very strong across the board, ranking 2nd for Driving Distance, 5th for Greens in Regulation, 5th for Scrambles and 7th for Putts per Round. This result is Morten’s third top ten finish of the year and will go a long way to securing his full playing rights for next season.

Mark TULLO -13
Mark Tullo enjoyed some highs and lows during his final round 71, including a hole in one, three birdies and four bogeys. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 35 year old golfer from Chile ranked 1st for Greens in Regulation, 4th for Putts per GIR and 1st for Par 3 Scoring. Unfortunately Mark did not score as heavily on the Par 5 holes through the week as the other leaders which may be the reason why this one slipped through his hands. All in all, a great performance though.

Craig LEE -12
Craig Lee flew out the blocks with birdies at the first two holes today but ended up with a final round 71 for 4th place. He was actually five shots worse than Peter Uihlein on the back nine but still managed to finished only three shots behind. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 36 year old golfer from Scotland was also strong across the board, ranking 5th for Driving Accruacy, 2nd for Greens in Regulation and 2nd for Scrambles. With this result, from his last four European Tour outings, Craig has finished tied 9th, tied 21st, missed cut and now 4th. A good run of form.
