Genworth Stats Pack - Summary Report

Brett Rumford converted six birdies against two bogeys on his way to a final round 68 for back to back victories. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, the much liked 35 year old Australian golfer did not rank that strongly for the long game categories, but his short game and putting was extraordinary. He ranked 1st for Scrambles (24/28 up and downs for Par), 1st for Putts per GIR (1.568 average), 1st for Putts per Round (100 putts in total) and 1st for 1 Putts per Round (42 single putts). Brett also converted 20 birdies in total over the week (only Pablo Larrazábal converted more with 21) and he dropped fewer shots than any other player in the field.

Looking at Brett's long game, he ranks down in 49th for Driving Accuracy and 64th for Greens in Regulation, meaning only six players averaged fewer greens over the two weeks (not great to be fair). But as we get closer to the green things start to improve, with Brett Scrambling a superb 41/55 times, although he only managed 8/16 for Sand Saves. Moving onto the greens Brett used the putter on only 205 occasions over the 144 holes and astonishingly he single putted 78 times (that’s 17 better than next best Grégory Havret). Looking at his overall scoring, Brett converted 45 birdies (9 more than any other player) and his combined total of -27 is 11 shots better than next best Pablo Larrazábal. Simply put, we may have witnessed the best short game and putting display ever on the European Tour.
