Round 4 of the BMW Masters presented by SRE Group produced 40 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 71.00. Gonzalo Fdez-Castaño emerged as the winner, with Molinari and Jaidee finishing as his closest challengers. We analyse their performances and round up the final Genworth Statistics leaders.

Gonzalo FDEZ-CASTAÑO -11
Gonzalo Fdez-Castaño converted six birdies against a double bogey on his way to a final round 68, winning the BMW Masters presented by SRE Group by one shot (he actually stood on the final tee with a three shot lead but visited a few bunkers on the way down the hole for a six). Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 33 year old Spanish golfer was imperious throughout his entire game, ranking 3rd for Driving Accuracy, 2nd for Greens in Regulation, 6th for Scrambles and 11th for Putts per Round. It really was a magnificent performance with under Par scoring on each of the different hole types (Par 3’s / Par 4’s / Par 5’s). With this 7th individual European Tour title, Gonzalo climbs up to 4th position on the Race to Dubai and also to the top of the Ryder Cup European Points List.

Francesco MOLINARI -10
Francesco Molinari came home in 30 shots for a superb final round 64 (only Peter Hanson managed to better that score) to climb up into the runner-up position alongside Jaidee. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 30 year old Italian golfer was steady with the longer clubs but he really excelled on and around the greens, scrambling for Pars 65.2% of the time and taking just 112 putts in total. The three time European Tour winner also ranked 2nd for Par 5 Scoring (behind Guthrie), highlighting that you do not need to be the longest hitter on tour to score heavily on those holes. With this finish, Francesco climbs up to 11th on the Race to Dubai and also to 4th on the Ryder Cup European Points List.
