Genworth Stats Pack - Summary Report

In a dramatic finish to the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, Chris Wood eagled the final hole to leapfrog George Coetzee and Sergio Garcia for the victory. Our Summary report analysis the performances of all three players.

Chris WOOD -18

This event was Chris Wood’s 116th start on the European Tour. He finished in fantastic style, hitting the final green in two shots (his 4th sub-regulation hit of the week), then holing the 12 foot putt for eagle. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, Chris actually struggled a little on the Par 3 holes (specifically the 3rd hole), but he ranked 1st for Par 4 Scoring and 2nd for Par 5 Scoring. Overall his driving was excellent and he achieved 81.9% Greens in Regulation (ranking 6th). He also putted very well, converting 2 eagles and 22 birdies for the week.

George COETZEE -17

George Coetzee fired a final round 65 to finish runner up, continuing his great start to the 2013 campaign (with three top ten finishes in four starts). A win must be around the corner. Over the week he drove the ball very long (as usual) but his accuracy both off the tee and into the greens was surprisingly average. George’s short game and specifically his Genworth Putting Statistics were exceptional though. He topped all three categories.

Sergio GARCIA -17

Every department of Sergio’s game was very strong this week. He was long and straight off the tee, ranked 3rd for Greens in Regulation and his short game was excellent. He was simply piped at the post by an eagle on the last. Statistically, the only ground he gave away to Chris Wood was in sub-regulation hits. Sergio did not manage to hit a single Par 5 green in two shots, nor did he manage to drive the green on the Par 4 16th hole. Chris Wood on the other hand accumulated 4 sub-regulation hits, providing him with four eagle putt opportunities (compared to Sergio’s zero).
