Genworth Stats Pack - Round 3 Review

Round 3 of the 70º OPEN D'ITALIA LINDT produced 37 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 71.68. Marcus Fraser leads on -11 with Molinari, Lagergren and Colsaerts following behind on -10. We analyse their performances and round up the Genworth Statistics leaders.

Marcus FRASER -11

Marcus Fraser converted four birdies on his way to a bogey free third round 68, to lead by one going into Sunday. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 35 year old Australian golfer is living up to his reputation as possessing one of the best short games in the business, ranking 1st for Scrambles on his own (with 13/14 up and downs for Par) and 1st for Putts per Round alongside Hennie Otto (with just 81 putts in total). As he leads into Sunday, the two time European Tour winner has dropped the fewest shots of all the players (just a single double bogey over the 54 holes).

Francesco MOLINARI -10

Francesco Molinari converted two birdies against one bogey on his way to a third round 71. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 30 year old Italian golfer is still performing extremely well from tee to green, ranking 2nd for Driving Accruacy (with 34/42 fairways) and 12th for Greens in Regulation (with 42/54 greens), plus he is just about keeping pace in the putting categories (although only managing four single putts in Round 3). Francesco will most definitely be the crowd favourite over the final 18 holes, in search for his fourth European Tour title.

Joakim Lagergren converted eight birdies against two bogeys on his way to a third round 67 (only Hend and Wattel managed to score better over the day). Joakim is showing some steady form of late (making his last five cuts) and a big finish here would help him climb up from his current Race to Dubai position of 146th.
