Genworth Stats Pack - Round 3 Review

Marcel Siem managed to keep a gap between himself and the pack with a round of 69, made up of five birdies, eleven pars and two bogeys (both on Par 5 holes oddly enough). Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 32 year old German talent continues to perform well in each department of the game, ranking 14th for Driving Accuracy, 14th for Greens in Regulation, 6th for Scrambles, 7th for Putts per GIR and 7th for Putts per Round. He also tops the Par 4 Scoring with a 3.71 average, plus he has hit six of the Par 5 holes in sub-regulation two shots. If Marcel can complete a wire to wire victory tomorrow that may gain him entry into The Masters.

Mikko Ilonen visited five greenside bunkers and managed just ten greens in regulation during an up and down third round of 70, which included an eagle, four birdies and four bogeys over the tricky Golf du Palais Royal course. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 33 year old golfer from Finland ranks 1st for both the Genworth Putts per GIR and Putts per Round statistics and he also ranks 1st for Par 5 Scoring with a 4.27 average (making four eagles on those holes).

David Horsey seemed to be the most consistent of the leading players during the third round, hitting 15/18 greens in regulation. Over the week the 27 year old 2011 winner of this event is yet to make an eagle but he has converted more birdies than any other player in the field (19 in total). With strong Genworth Statistics across the board, David is in with a good chance tomorrow.

Genworth Ambassador Pablo Larrazábal was slightly off today but Scrambled well for a round of 69 to stay right in contention. The same as the other leading players for this event, the 29 year old Spanish golfer is also ranking high for the Genworth Putting Statistics which seems to be the key ingredient for good scoring this week.
