Genworth Stats Pack - Round 3 Review

Craig Lee fired eleven birdies (including nine in the first ten holes) on his way to an amazing third round 61, to lead by two shots going into Sunday. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 36 year old Scottish golfer is looking solid from tee to green and he is putting the best of all the players in the field, ranking either 1st or 2nd in the three official Gentworth putting categories. He also ranks 1st for Par 3 Scoring and Birdies per Round (with 21 birdies in total) and he will be trying to win his first European Tour title tomorrow (Craig has competed in 81 previous European Tour events with one top three finish to date).

Alejandro Cañizares converted one eagle and five birdies against a single bogey on his way to a third round 65. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, incredibly the 30 year old Spanish golfer has recorded a near identical set of statistics to the leader, with the exception of holing a few less putts (this is almost unprecedented). He also leads the Par 5 Scoring with a 4.00 average, firing three eagles, six birdies and three pars on those holes.

Victor Dubuisson converted two eagles and three birdies against two bogeys on his way to a third round 66. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 23 year old French golfer does not seem to be performing that well from tee to green on the face of things, but just take a look at his Par 5’s in 2, which highlights that he has hit 7 of the Par 5 greens in sub-regulation two shots, more than any other player (note that he has also managed a Par 4 in sub-regulation as well). Sub-regulation hits help the players scoring because they enable them to make easy two-putt birdies and momentum changing eagles.

Thomas Björn converted five birdies against a single bogey on his way to a third round 67. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 42 year old Great Dane is looking the strongest from tee to green of the leading players outlined in this report. He ranks 16th for Driving Accuracy, 19th for Greens in Regulation and 1st for Scrambles (saving Par 14/16 times). This has enabled him to lead the Par 4 Scoring and drop the fewest shots of all the players in the field (just two bogeys).
