Genworth Stats Pack - Round 3 Review

Victor Dubuisson fired nine birdies over The Montgomerie Maxx Royal on his way to a bogey free third round 63, to lead by five going into Sunday (surprisingly 63 was not the best score of the day, which went to Jacquelin with a 62). Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 23 year old French talent ranks down in 45th for Driving Accuracy (with 22/39 fairways), but because the rough is less penal this week, he is still drawing decent enough lies for his approach shots – and taking full advantage of them by ranking 1st for Greens in Regulation (with 48/54 greens), as well as ranking 2nd for Par 5’s in 2. We should also highlight that Victor has accumulated 24 birdies in total (4 more than any other player) and that he is scoring heaviest on the Par 5 holes. A big Sunday beckons as the up and coming French star attempts to win his first European Tour title.

Ian Poulter converted five birdies against a single bogey on his way to a third round 68, sitting five behind Dubuisson with 18 holes to play. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 37 year old English golfer is producing similar patterns to the leader, by ranking way down for Driving Accuracy but right up there for Greens in Regulation, plus he is also scoring incredibly well on the Par 5’s (the top two also rank 1st and 2nd for Par 5 Scoring). Out of his ten missed greens, the twelve-time European Tour winner has up and downed for Par nine times, which has enabled him to drop the fewest shots out of all the players so far (just 2 bogeys). If things don’t quite go to plan for Dubuisson, rest assured Poulter and a host of other world stars will be waiting to pounce.
