Genworth Stats Pack - Round 1 Review

A breezy first day of golf at the Madeira Islands Open – Portugal – BPI over the Clube de Golf do Santo da Serra course produced 38 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 73.57. Lloyd Saltman leads on -8 with Richard Bland following behind on -6. We analyse how they did it plus we round up the early Genworth Statistics leaders.

Lloyd SALTMAN -8

Lloyd Saltman jumped out into an early lead with a superb round of 64, which included nine birdies against just the one bogey. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 28 year old Scotsman ranked 1st for Driving Distance with a huge 330 yards and 2nd for Greens in Regulation with 15/18 greens hit. He also notched up eleven single putts during the round and was 2/2 for Sand Saves.

Richard BLAND -6

Richard Bland fired seven birdies against one bogey for his round of 66. Statistically, he was not quite so impressive from tee to green in comparison to Lloyd Saltman, but on the greens themselves there was no-one better. The 40 year old Englishman took a total of just 23 putts on his way to ranking 1st for each of the Genworth Putting Statistics categories.
