Genworth’s Putts4Charity hits €750,000 mark

Genworth’s Putts4Charity initiative reached the landmark figure of €750,000 last week at the Nordea Masters in Sweden.

Swede Henrik Stenson holed a 12ft putt for birdie on the 18th in the second round to prompt a €1 donation from Genworth – they donate €1 for every one-putt a professional makes in tournament play – taking the total raised for charitable funds in Europe since 2007 to three-quarters of a million euros.

Robert Karlsson and Jarmo Sandelin, two more of Sweden’s stars, also took some time out to take part in the Putts4Charity Challenge at the Putts4Charity stand, raising a further €4,000 for SOS Children’s Villages, Genworth’s chosen charity which helps orphans all over the world. On a specially made model putting green which replicates some of golf’s iconic putts, Karlsson made three out of four to claim fifth place on the ‘Pro Leaderboard’.

Genworth work in partnership with the Tour Players Foundation (the charitable arm of The European Tour), SOS Children’s Villages and the European Tour professionals, and it is a credit to their outstanding Putts4Charity initiative that such an impressive figure has been raised.
