After a near six-month wait, the Rolex Series returns to the DP World Tour schedule for the second time this season.

With just one week to go until The 152nd Open at Royal Troon, a host of household names in world golf are descending on the east coast of Scotland at The Renaissance Club.

Royal McIlroy is the defending champion and is bidding to make it back-to-back Rolex Series victories following his triumph in Dubai at the start of the year.

In total, 13 of the top 20 on the Official World Golf Ranking are in East Lothian, with the tournament - co-sanctioned with the PGA TOUR - welcoming another stellar field.

Among those visiting players are Major champions Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman, while Team Europe Ryder Cup stars such as Ludvig Åberg, Viktor Hovland and Sepp Straka are also teeing it up.

If you have not done so already, you can sign up to play the official 2024 DP World Tour Fantasy game here and submit your six-man team before round one gets under way on Thursday.

The 2024 season-long winner will win a trip to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai next year, enjoy a lesson with a DP World Tour professional and a round of golf on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. For more information on this amazing prize and others, read here.

Fantasy Insight: As it stands, Ludvig Åberg is the favourite among players of our Fantasy Game this week, featuring in 70% of teams. Other popular players include Tommy Fleetwood (65%) and Collin Morikawa (46%).

Dual member Robert MacIntyre, who won on the PGA TOUR for the first time last month, is the fourth most picked player, featuring in 43% of Fantasy teams.

Fantasy Prize

Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.

Favourite - Rory McIlroy

Where else to start than with the defending champion. His victory at The Renaissance Club last year, where he finished birdie-birdie to pip home favourite Robert MacIntyre to the title, is certainly fresh in most of our memories.

The current Race to Dubai Rankings leader began the year with a runner-up finish at the Dubai Invitational followed by victory at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, the first Rolex Series event of the season.

He is making his first start since finishing second at the U.S. Open last month, with the 35-year-old registering top-15 finishes in each of his last five starts worldwide - a run that began with victory at the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA TOUR in May.

In the absence of Scottie Scheffler, the World Number Two from Northern Ireland is the top-ranked player in the field this week. He is also in the top three statistically for Scoring Average, SG: Total and Driving Distance so far this season on the PGA TOUR.

Form Horse - Tommy Fleetwood

There are a plethora of players you could opt for with this one, but with a focus on our DP World Tour members we have plumped for a fan favourite in world golf.

Across his last four starts at this historic event, the World Number 11 has finished in the top ten on three occasions and missed out on victory in a play-off against Aaron Rai in 2020.

So far this season, his stand-out performance came at the Masters Tournament when he finished in a tie for third at Augusta National, while in his last six starts he has been no worse than a tie for 26th.

Closing in on a return back to his career-high world ranking of ninth, the Englishman has already won this season on the Race to Dubai and will be well backed to mount another challenge on UK soil this week.

Wild Card - Jordan Smith

Confidence should be high for the Englishman after his second runner-up finish of the campaign at last week's BMW International Open in Germany.

The two-time DP World Tour winner is ranked fourth for Greens In Regulation on the DP World Tour so far this season, a hallmark of his game over the years.

Now into the top 20 on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex, the 31-year-old will hope to accumulate more points this week in a bid to boost his hopes of earning one of the ten PGA TOUR cards on offer at the end of the season.

In his seven starts to date at this event, his best result came last year when he finished tied 12th so the signs are he is beginning to come to terms with the challenge of this week's host venue. Despite all that, he is picked by just 1.4% of Fantasy users this week.

Looking back - BMW International Open

Picked by just 3.8% of Fantasy users and registering a return of 226 points, Ewen Ferguson carded a closing 68 at Golfclub München Eichenried to win his third DP World Tour title.

Of our pre-tournament selections, the top-picked Ryan Fox, the Favourite, earned 146 points for the 41% of Fantasy users who selected the New Zealander in their team.

Our Form Horse Andrea Pavan was unable to maintain his recent good run as the Italian missed the cut by two shots, earning 57 points, while Wild Card Jannik De Bruyn finished tied 27th to register 129 points.
